  • You have been chosen to go on a trip to space with a team of astronauts!

Before you can leave, you have to do a few things. First, you need to find your space suit. It should be in one of the lockers.

  • Image field 10
  • You get to the lockers, but you can't remember which one has your space suit in it. As you look at them, you notice a note with your name on it.

  • Image field 138
  • The note says:

We had to clean your space suit. Fill out the form to find the locker number you need.

  • You look at the form attached to the note.

  • 298! That must be the locker number you need.

  • There is a note taped to locker 298. You take it off and unfold it.

  • Image field 35
  • The note says:

To unlock the locker, find the right combination of numbers.

Each row and column of this grid has the numbers 1-6. Fill in the blanks to find the numbers you need.

  • 5421! That must be the right combination. You try it, and the lock opens. Inside the locker is your spacesuit.

  • That's not quite right. Try again!

  • You take your space suit out of the locker. You're almost ready to take off, but first you need to chart the path your space shuttle will take. There is a map on a nearby table.

  • Image field 50
  • The first thing you need to do is find the planet you want to land on.

You know three things about the planet:

    1. It is not the smallest or the largest planet on the map.
    2. It is either purple, blue, or green.
    3. It doesn't have any rings around it.

  • Planet B! That's where you're going.

The next thing you need to do is find any meteors and mark them on your map.

  • That's not quite right. Try again!

Hint: The right planet is medium sized, purple, and doesn't have any rings around it.

  • Image field 60
  • The numbers in the squares show how many meteors are touching that square, either above, below, to the side, or diagonally. You need to find the squares where the meteors are hiding.

  • You found the meteors! You mark them on the map.

  • That's not quite right. Try again!

HINT: There are no meteors in any of the squares touching the zero.

  • Image field 135
  • The last thing you have to do is chart the course your space shuttle is going to take. You need to start at earth and end at Planet B without hitting any meteors or other planets on the way.

  • Image field 136
  • You have to make a path from the X on Earth to Planet B. Go one step at a time. It may help to plan the entire route in your head or on a piece of paper.

  • Image field 86
  • That's not quite right. Try again!

HINT: You need to decide how many squares you're going to move and in what direction you're going to move first. It may help to plan the entire route in your head or on a piece of paper.

Your first move should be 1 square to the right.

  • With a safe course charted on your map, you are ready to go. You put your space suit on and join the astronauts in the space shuttle.

Congratulations! You made it to outer space!
